My Angel

"When people think of angels, they think flowing robes and halos.
But in the Bible, they also look like ordinary people. Why not today?"
~ JOAN WESTER ANDERSON, In the Arms of Angels.

It's funny that someone can become someone else's angel without really noticing it. I for one, am that person. I didn't realised it at first, but in someone else's eyes, I was their angel.

What happened was he [for confidential purposes] told me, a while back, that I slowly became an angel that brought him back. What he meant was that, even though he didn't show any of his pain (that was inside his heart) to anyone, I was like a light that took that pain in his heart away when no one else could. Which I didn't realise at all until he told me.

What made me think was, what did I even do? and his reply was, I stood by him when every thing else was falling apart around him. Even his girlfriend tried to figure out (but failed) what was going through his mind during that period. What cause this pain was that he had lost his friend in an accident, he then left home for a short period of time and his break up. And so, the only person that was there from the beginning to end was me and other people who helped him too :).

SO, my think about question is: Have you ever been in a situation where you can't do anything and all a sudden someone you know becomes that 'ray of light' that you needed to get through it?

A step into the future

"What happened in the past that was painful has a great deal to do with what we are today, but revisiting this painful past can contribute little or nothing to what we need to do now" by William Glasser.

So this quote was taken from a TV show I like to watch, Criminal Minds. What this quote means, to me, is that what happens in the past, even though it plays a big part of our lives, should stay in the past. Trying to go back to the past has no use, because it is 'yesterday's history' and tomorrow is a new begining.

It also means to move on and head to the future. Even though your past maybe painful, you can learn from what has happened and try to use it was an 'experience' or as a starting point in your life to 'change over to a new leaf'.

Not everyone's past is all the same. Some may link into one another, but in the end its you who has the decision whether to move on or keep living in the past. For those who move on, they show great strength and courage and those who don't, just show great weakness.

In away it kinda relates to relationship break ups. I mean, I know someone who seriously can't get over their ex's. They even can't get over their first ex-boyfriend. Even though they maybe in a relationship with someone else. I think that once you end a relationship, the best thing is to move on and stop living in the past and see it as an experience.

Some kind of "friend" she was

Don't you just hate it when someone close to you, just uses you? I mean, I have this "friend" and she used me to get close to some friends of mine. What I mean is that, I have some close male friends and she tried to get close to them through me. At first I didn't realise it, but when my male friends told me, I then realised that they weren't lying. What I had realised was that most of the guys I had introduced her to, she told me after that she liked them. I thought it was one of her "mini crushes" but after awhile it got to an extent that my male friends told me that they didn't like her. Because she tried to "catch up" with them without me knowing.

But it didn't happen on one occasion. NO. It happened on numerous occasions. For example during one of the school annual events, there was this guy who liked me (who I only saw was a friend) and was trying to hang out with me that day, but my "friend" tried to get in between us. What she did was, each time she saw me and him together, she'll come in between us and start to flirt with him in front of me. With this, I immediately walked away from him and her. Then after awhile, he found me and we started to chat and hang out. But then she'll come back again. So throughout that day, it was like the game cat and mouse. He was trying to chase me not her and she was trying to chase him. Then when the day was over, she told me that she was trying to ask him out again (cause they both gone out with each other 3 times but it never worked out) and she asked me to ask him if he wanted to get back with her again because she couldn't all day.

It happened again, the following year. But this time, a different guy that I was hanging out with didn't have a crush on me. But the funny thing was, she has been flirting with him throughout the whole year and he knew. So he pretended that he didn't know and whenever we had to do partner type activities, he always would be my partner. Because he knew that if he didn't then she would. =P

So anyways, after 2 years; thinking that she was a good friend, she turned out to be a friend that uses you to get through something else. In this case, trying to get between me and my male friends and trying to be in a relationship with them through me. After graduation, me and her lost contact with each other. We occasionally meet at the shops, but I wouldn't consider her as a friend.

Catching up with old school friends :)

Ever since graduation, I think other people as well, have found it hard to catch up with old friends. I mean, you get to see a few people like around uni or work but what about you’re other friends that you also know? Whenever I try to organise something or someone else does, the main problem is either work or uni. It's really hard to organise catching up sessions with old school friends’ cause both yours and your friend's personal life clashes together. The results in no catching up! :( But this week I managed to catch up with 2 of my high school buddies for lunch at the Galleria. It was soo nice to finally get to catch up with them after a few months of only the occasional 'hi' on Facebook or on MSN. We had lunch at Aroma Cafe and then after wandered around the shopping centre. It was nice to see what each other were now doing with "life after high school". To me, it seems like we all moved on but out personalities haven't changed since graduation. The day for me was a fun day and a great way to start of the week because it was the first day back after a week off.
