Cinderella's Sister 신데렐라 언니

Cinderella's sister (신데렐라 언니 "Cinderella Unni") also known as Cinderella's Stepsister/ A Modern Story of Revenge, is a 2010 South Korean Drama.

The synopsis of this drama is that it has a Cinderella storyline with a twist. The story starts of with Song Eun-jo (portrayed by Moon Geun Young) who lives with her mother and her mother's lover. She hates living with him because he gets drunk and abuses her mother. As a result, both Eun-jo and her mother flees him, but gets captured along the way.

She finally gets to live in a new family when her mother remarries a kind man who owns a winery. At first Eun-jo denies living with her new family because she assumes that her mother will rob the kind man like she did with all the other men in her mother's life. But later on accepts her new life and a way for her to be schooled.

However, she cannot accept the affections of her overly spoiled step-sister, Hyo-seon (portrayed by Seo Woo) and her kind step-father Gu Dae-seong (portrayed by Kim Gab Soo). Eun-jo finds a friend in Hong Ki-hoon (portrayed by Chun jung Myung), a college student working at the winery. But a tragedy happens when he leaves the winery. Because Hyo-seon was jealous that Eun-jo and Ki-hoon liked each other, she makes Eun-jo believe that he has abandoned her by hiding a letter that Ki-hoon have told her to pass onto Eun-jo.

8 years pass, and they reunite. However, Eun-jo still ignores her feelings for Ki-hoon because she thought he abandoned her. A new worker appears named Han Jeong-woo (portrayed by Taecueon) who was the same little boy who Eun-jo used to cook when they were living with Eun-jo's mother's lover. Jeong-woo becomes Eun-jo's fairy godmother, but secretly still loves Eun-jo since they were kids.

I would give this drama a 9 out of 10. The reason for this is that I really enjoyed watching this drama. There were a few scenes which I actually cried in. The storyline, along with the Cinderella twist, makes you wander who is the Cinderella in this drama. Because both female leads have, in a way, shows their true colours. For example, Eun-jo's character at first is a cold-hearted cynical girl who hides her emotions. But as time passes, she begins to open up when the return of Ki-hoon.
