Dream High 드림하이

Dream High (or 드림하이) is a 2011 idol South Korean Drama. It stars Bae Su Ji (Suzy) as Go Hye Mi, Kim Soo-Hyun as Song Sam Dong, Taecyeon as Hyun Si Hyuk (Jin Guk), Ham Eun Jung as Yoon Baek Hee, IU as Kim Pil Suk and Wooyoung as Jason.

The synopsis of this idol drama is that it stars 6 students at Kirin Art School. Here, they work to achieve their dreams of becoming stars in the Korean Music Industry. They learn to develop their singing, songwriting and dance skills. Each student has their own strength and weaknesses, but can overcome this by the guidance of their teachers and each other and to make it on the stage.

I would give this drama a 8 out of 10. This is because, I really enjoyed watching it. It has a romantic comedy theme to it along with a musical theme as well. What I also liked about this drama is that, it kind of gives an insight to what the music industry is like. For example, trying what ever it takes to be on the stage.

Because this drama is an idol drama, there where a few Korean idol singers/ groups in this drama who played as a cameo. Some included Kim Hyun Joong, Miss A and 2AM.

What made this drama funny was some of the scenes that was re-acted from other dramas. For example, the scene from Boys Over Flowers/ Boys Before Flowers when they enter the school and the scene from Cinderella's Sister when Hong Ki-hoon calls out to Song Eun-jo.

There was also the sweet developing romance between Jason and Kim Pil Sook. :)

Personally, this drama is kind of like the TV series I Dream and Britannia High, where students are selected to attend a music school (similar to this drama) where they also learn how to develop their singing, song writing and dance skills. If you haven't seen these TV series then, its similar to the 2009 movie Fame.
