The real deal

It’s funny how people try to cover up the truth. Like tourist destinations. They only show you all the fun places but they don’t show you what makes that particular country so unique. For me, living in a small province in Vietnam is what I call finding the heart of Vietnam. Even though it may not be the heart of Vietnam, I get to experience what a typical Vietnamese person would do day-to-day. Places like, Ha Long Bay and Nha Trang are good places to go to in Vietnam, if you want to relax and all. But if you truly want to have hands on experience of the true Vietnamese lifestyle then spending a week or so in any province will give you an insight to the Vietnamese culture. What you get to experience and see in the provinces is totally different from what you see in the “recommended” tourist destinations. In the tourist destinations, they have organised the area to an extent that it seems like it is all the same in the different parts of Vietnam. However, that isn’t the truth! The truth is “outside those walls” is the ‘real deal’ of Vietnam. You would be amazed on how much different Vietnam is different from a Western Society. You would never expect the conditions and lifestyle the Vietnamese people live in because it’s kinda like the complete opposite from living here in Australia.

So next time when you’re visiting a country, try to experience what the country has to offer. What I mean is, to actually go out of ‘those walls’ and wander about a local village or province to gain some insight in that country.
